Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. Nicole Ari Parker is an American actor in stage and films. Her most famous role is in the role of Teri an ardent attorney Teri Jospehson on the Showtime show Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name following her marriage. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always intrigued by acting. When she participated in an Maryland high school competition in her early years of education she received the award for best actress. Following her time in the theater as well as 'The Washington Ballet Company' she earned a degree in acting from 'New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, her debut role in a major film, earned her a lot of respect. Then came movies like "Boogie Nights Spark" and Blue Streak. Soul Food received a lot of praise for her work. She also appeared in TV shows like Second Time Around' and Empire. Early in her career she performed in several stage plays. Parker with a strong political interest, is married with actor/model Boris Kodjoe. They have two children together.

Contractor, who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai when he was 7, had traveled all over the world and had a taste of various cultures while growing up. Her education was at the boarding school of London between the ages of 7 and 9 years. Later, her family was relocated from London to Toronto, Canada. Contractor was a brilliant scholar in Toronto and was educated to become the classical ballet dancer. She went to the Etobicoke School of the Arts. It is a special high school that teaches arts in which she didn't just take classes in theater but also performed too. At the age of 16 and after more than 10 years of dance Contractor decided to pursue acting seriously. When she completed her high school education, she was awarded an entire scholarship to University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed an MA in Theatre, and was also a double major in Psychology and Sociology. Contractor was cast in her first show following her first year at university. After two weeks of performances, she got positive reviews. The play was deemed the best production by Canadian critics. Contractor accepted the offer to take part in Stratford's Conservatory course. Only eight men selected and four females accepted for the 20-week course of classical theater. Contractor's place in the following production was secured, and she was chosen as Hermia.
